HOW I RESET AFTER A WEEKEND OFF TRACK

HEY LADIES, IT’S YOUR GIRL TOTALBODYCARLY and yes, I have weekends where I go off plan. It happens. I’m human. We all need a little balance - a dinner out, a rich decadent dessert, maybe some taco bell. But here’s the thing: I don’t spiral. I don’t beat myself up. I reset.

Progress isn’t about being perfect; it’s about what you do after you slip. Here’s exactly how I get myself back on track - physically, mentally, and emotionally.

1. HYDRATE HARD

The very first thing I do - before cardio, before breakfast - is hydrate. A full gallon of water the next day is non-negotiable. It helps flush out the sodium, sugar, and alcohol that cause that dreaded “puffy” look and sluggish feeling.

Pro tip: Add electrolytes or a little lemon and pink salt in the morning to help your body absorb the water faster. You’ll feel your energy come back by mid-day.

2. MOVE YOUR BODY

Movement is medicine. I don’t punish myself with hours of cardio - I just move. Whether it’s a walk, a lift, or a sweat session, I get my blood flowing. It’s not about burning off calories; it’s about reminding my body (and mind) who’s in control.

Even 20–30 minutes can reset your mindset and get you right back into routine. The hardest part is starting - so don’t overthink it, just go.

3. DON’T RESTRICT

This is where a lot of people mess up. They wake up guilty and try to “fix” it by skipping meals or eating next to nothing. That’s the worst thing you can do. Starving yourself after indulging slows your metabolism and sets you up for a rebound.

Instead, fuel your body properly - protein, veggies, and balanced carbs. Your metabolism needs stability, not punishment. You don’t need to “earn” your next meal. You just need to return to your plan.

4. EAT CLEAN, SIMPLE MEALS

I go back to basics - whole, unprocessed foods that make me feel good. Think grilled chicken, rice, veggies, eggs, oats, lean proteins, and greens.

No complicated recipes, no tracking overload - just structure. This gives your digestion a break and helps your body reset faster. And yes, drink even more water. Remember: eating clean isn’t about restriction; it’s about nourishment.

5. MOVE ON

The weekend is over. The choices are made. And that’s okay. I don’t waste time in guilt mode because guilt doesn’t burn calories - action does.

I focus on what’s next… the next meal, the next workout, the next good choice. One off day (or even an off weekend) doesn’t ruin progress. Quitting does. Your comeback matters more than your slip-up. Get up, reset, and keep going, because consistency always wins.

remember, A reset isn’t punishment - it’s self-respect. You can’t change what already happened, but you can decide how you show up now. Hydrate, move, nourish, and get back to being the badass you are.
